I’m often asked about ‘ageless beauty’ and will I go under the knife? (Terrible expression…No!)
We are obsessed with ageing. I prefer to call it ageing gracefully. I do believe the kind of person you are will show on your face as you age, so be kind! Having said that we all want to look and feel vibrant and fabulous!
So here are my top anti-ageing tips without a chemical in sight.
Ageless Beauty
Ensure that you are getting important vitamins and minerals. Remember Omega 3 levels, Beware of vitamin D deficiency and for anti-ageing, Hyaloronic acid is important as is Silica
Choose superfoods to boost your immunity. Get as much dark green leafy veg as possible. Juicing gets it to the cells quickly! Eat a ‘rainbow of foods’. Remember the best diet is the ‘JERF’ diet (just eat real food) but add in some superfoods. For chocolate lovers Raw Cacao is high in antioxidants and Honey and Propolis are brilliantly anti-ageing,
Choose organic and natural skincare
There is a definite growing interest in organic and natural skincare, across all age groups. At one point only women dedicated to choosing natural skincare because of allergies or a desire to be sustainable would choose these options. Now however, younger and older generations alike seem to opt for organic skincare. It has become a genuine ‘rival’ to conventional skincare and ticks many other boxes in the process.
Organic Skincare
Labels can be very misleading. The new discerning consumers are seeking real integrity and clarity over labelling. Just because a product claims to be ‘natural’ or ‘pure’ doesn’t mean much. So companies who make it really clear what is and what isn’t in their products do well! Organic certification really helps too. Of course it’s clear if brands are 100 per cent organic, (ie balms, oils etc) but otherwise it’s important to look for those which are certified. The process of certification means the company have really invested in their organic credentials and a high percentage of ingredients must be organic. If however just the word ‘organic’ is used, it may not mean much at all. For example a product which says contains organic aloe vera may only contain 0.01 per cent of organic aloe vera alongside a whole host of synthetic ingredients !
Use oils for skin and hair.
Being easily absorbed they balance the production and sebum and rehydrate the skin. I love raw coconut oil and essential oils. Don’t be confused into thinking oil will make your hair oily,. Actually brushing your hair to help with natural oils is great and then apply a tiny amount of organic scented hair oil www.tabithajameskraan.com
Pamper your Hands
Hands show your age so massage them regularly. Make a hand oil using 10ml Avocado oil and a few drops of Carrot oil, jojoba and geranium. Blend together with a Vitamin E capsule You can buy the fabulous Enriching Spelt Hand Cream – ideal for deeply nourishing the skin for soft smooth hands from Aeos. Its great to use after gardening, or to help minimize the signs of sun damage www.aeos.net
Boost Energy Levels and Smile
Keeping fit makes you look happier! I’m not a gym bunny but the trick is find something you love, I go to Fitsteps classes which is like Strictly but without a partner. The classes are fab. Producers, it’s a YES if I’m invited on the show!
The big one – Choose Happiness
The ultimate anti-ageing ‘weapon’ is a warm smile. When you see a woman who is genuinely happy in her own skin, she gives off a certain energy that is youthful and attractive. Take care of your own happiness levels!
