EatFirst Gourmet Meals
Over the years we’ve tried a few of the various meal-delivery services that are out there but haven’t ever been won over by any of them. A few members of our family swear by Hello Fresh who deliver the ingredients and recipes for meals that you make yourself. And I have to say it’s certainly a hassle-free if expensive way to plan your meals for the week.
This week though Mr 50 Plus and I tried out EatFirst who market themselves as ‘The UK’s finest Gourmet Ready Meals and Take Away’. We ordered a few different meals, all cooked by their Head Chef Benn Hodges.
When he started the company it was with the aim of delivering decent food to time-poor, hungry foodies in London! Eat First has really taken off and they now deliver all over it seems. Mr 50 Plus is quite nifty in the kitchen anyway and has set quite high standards for Asian-inspired food. Nonetheless, the EatFirst meals we tried really impressed us.
Look at the ingredients for most ready meals in the supermarkets and you’ll notice that they have a ridiculous number of additives. Eat First’s ethos is completely different and the food Benn creates are both healthy and natural. It’s not cheap but then quality never is, is it?! It’s definitely well worth trying EatFirst out.
For the record we had the Grilled Miso Chicken, Teriyaki Tofu, Vegetable Udon Noodles and the Tiramisu. My favourite was without doubt the Miso Chicken but the Teriyaki Tofu was pretty good too. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever actually enjoyed a dish containing tofu!
