National Trust membership prize draw for retirees that move into a Girlings retirement property before July 2021.
Retirees thinking of moving into a retirement development this spring could be in for the chance to win National Trust membership for two. The spring prize draw is being run by Girlings Retirement Rentals.
Win National Trust Membership
To enter the prize draw people must move into one of Girlings’ selected properties before 1st July 2021. They must also reserve the property by 31st May 2021. There are also three Spring Celebration hampers from Fortnum and Mason up for grabs for runners up.
The National Trust is the biggest conservation charity in Europe and celebrated 125 years in 2020. They care for over 250,000 hectares of farmland, 780 miles of coastline and 500 historic properties, gardens and nature reserves all over the UK. Membership includes free entry to their outdoor places and free parking at the majority of their car parks.
Girlings’ Retirement Developments
Moving into a retirement development has grown in popularity in recent years. The COVID-19 pandemic has further emphasised the many benefits there are for older people. The sense of community and living close to people of a similar age are important. In addition, retirees like the safety and security that comes with living in a purpose-built development.
Many Girlings’ properties come with assured or lifetime tenancies too which gives the same security of tenure as home ownership. This type of tenancy, which tends to only come with retirement homes, can make renting a more appealing option for those new to renting as they have always owned their home.
Jamie Turnbull, Business Director at Girlings Retirement Rentals says, “Now we are slowly getting back to normality as lockdown is eased, we are finding many people who put off moving last year are starting to consider a move. Often renting is a popular choice for retired people, as it can bring lots of benefits. It’s a way of freeing up capital in a home and to downsize. Also owners no longer have to worry about the upkeep and maintenance of a home, as the rent includes this. Spring is always a popular time to move and with our prize draw offering an extra incentive there is no better time to start the next chapter in your retirement.”
Coastal Living
Girlings has several properties available as part of the spring prize draw. There are some lovely developments in East Yorkshire, Cumbria, Somerset, Dorset, Exeter, Norfolk, West Sussex and Surrey. There are properties to suit all tastes and budgets from coastal resorts through to city centres and countryside locations.
For example, there is a one bedroom apartment available to rent at All Saints Court in Market Weighton. This is a thriving market town with Georgian and Victorian streets in East Yorkshire. This development is for the over 55s and those who wish to enjoy independent living. The rent is £595 per calendar month on an assured tenancy.
For those that fancy coastal living then a one bedroom apartment at Shannock Court in Sheringham could be ideal. Sheringham is a seaside town on the Norfolk coastline near beautiful countryside and the holiday resort of Cromer. This development is for the over 60s and is located close to the high street. Luckily it is also near the beach and promenade. The rent is £750 per calendar month on an assured tenancy.
City Centre Retirement Living
And for those that like town centre living there is a one bedroomed apartment at Homespa House in the centre of Cheltenham, one of England’s most attractive and elegant spa towns famed for its relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. The development is for the over 60s and the landlord is offering both an assured tenancy and an assured shorthold tenancy rental option for this property for £695 and £650, respectively.
All rents include services and maintenance. These developments all benefit from having communal facilities. There’s a communal lounge where social events and activities take place and gardens. Plus there’s a 24-hour emergency call system in each apartment. The onsite Manager who oversees the development gives people added peace of mind.
