Sundays are for chilling right? PJ Days bingeing on box sets? A lazy day before the working week starts again.
A good old-fashioned Sunday Roast really sets you up for the week, don’t you think!. And let’s be fair most of us love roasties, Yorkshire Pudding, lashings of gravy and whatever meat takes your fancy. We’re not fussy in our house. No Sunday Lunch purists. When the kids were at home they thought nothing of having Cranberry Sauce with beef and similarly Yorkshire Puds when we were having chicken. I digress….
Sunday Lunch and Spa Package
Just before Christmas Mr and Mrs 50 Plus went for a Sunday Lunch and Spa package in The Park Plaza Cardiff . So we checked into the Spa in the morning where we had full use of all the usual spa facilities including the relaxation room. Both of us went for a Pevonia Signature Facial. Mr C was going to have a back massage but he’s recently become as much of a facials fan as me. This one was particularly relaxing and I was at the point of just nodding off when the therapist gently asked me how I was feeling and brought me back to reality.
Roast Beef and All The Trimmings
Reality was fine though as the next step in our half-day spa package was a two course Sunday lunch in the Laguna Bar. We were both ravenous after our hard morning of relaxing, relaxing and more relaxing! There was plenty of choice but it was the beef that I wanted before I even sat down! The roast sirloin of beef was served with fresh horseradish sauce, duck fat roast potatoes and a red wine jus. The deal we had opted for was a two course lunch. However, we ended up sharing a starter and sharing a dessert so we had the best of both worlds.
The food was fresh, piping hot and cooked to perfection. We went home sated, relaxed, super-clean and rejuvenated. There was just enough time for a nap before we launched into episode 6 Season 4 of …….
