For most of January I was convalescing after a pretty major op in December. So I’ve had plenty of opportunities to try out my various Christmas bits and bobs. From wearing my fab new necklace from Claire Hill Designs every day, to writing in my new journal from Lovendu and using my various new beauty products. My last page of Little Wins was a while back now but my Wiberg’s Bath Essence is still going strong. So many of you emailed us saying it was your favourite bath product and the only one you’ll use.
Claire Hill Designs
So this gorgeous, little necklace above has become my go-to piece of jewellery of late. And every single friend who has seen it on me, comments without fail! It’s Amazonite and silver and I can literally wear it with everything. Claire Hill Designs has some stunning jewellery on her site. And there’s something to suit everyone. Whether you like to stand out from the crowd and wow every time or if you’re a more understated lady, Claire has a piece just perfect for you. Her solid gold collection is exclusive but classic and her silver bracelets are just perfect. Take a look, you won’t be disappointed, I assure you.
SOS SERUM
I’m currently only using SOS products for sensitive skin and my skin looks and feels lovely. Still 61 not 21 skin but smooth and hydrated. SOS Cleanse is lightweight, non-greasy and glides over my skin dissolving all make-up and I love it. SOS Serum is a perfect repairing cream to use pre-moisturising with either the SOS H2O or SOS Night. It’s also brilliant to use on really dry patches like elbows. Since using the SOS range, I’ve even been more happy to go out make-up free as I’m convinced that the serum kind of acts like a primer, blurring out fine lines to some extent. Last Summer, Mr. C and I used the SOS SPF 50 most of the time and it genuinely does moisturise as well as protect your skin.
FaceWise Cleansing Balm
Using FaceWise Melting Cleansing Balm makes me feel rather like I’m at a spa. You rub a tiny amount between your fingers, it melts and then you gently massage in before removing with a hot, damp cloth. It’s intelligent skincare which reacts with your own body heat and is suitable for all types of skin. The sweet almond oil moisturises but doesn’t clog your pores. It’s a lovely and gentle cleanser which keeps your skin clean, supple and hydrated, all at the same time.
The B Collection Towel Poncho
This towel poncho from The B Collection is a great accessory for a self-care day or a spa-at-home day. It’s so soft on the skin as it’s made from a microfibre fabric. The great thing is it’s lovely and warm and absorbs water quickly too. Perfect for when you get out of a swimming pool. Some of those changing rooms can be so cold, can’t they. My daughters say the poncho is great to put on if you have toddlers and babies to dry and dress after a swimming session too. No more shivering with a skimpy towel wrapped around your wet cozzy!
Lovendu Journals & Planners
By now I think we all know that journaling is one of the best ways to improve your wellness. A simple but beautiful notebook suits me fine but most people I know prefer the more structured type where they don’t just jot down their thoughts. Lovendu has Anxiety Journals, Happiness Journals and many others. I’ve found that writing down what’s on my mind stops that spiral of overthinking I’m prone to, My Mini Productivity Pad from Lovendu is probably the most useful thing on my desk right now in that it helps me prioritise. And all my daughters are after my Happiness Journal!
Look Fabulous Forever – Everyday Makeup Palette
Anyone who knows me whether in ‘real-life’ or from MrandMrs50Plus knows that I am Look Fabulous Forever’s biggest fan. In fact apart from one or two items, I pretty much only wear LFF Make-Up. Their new Everyday MakeUp Palette is a really useful addition to my make-up bag. It’s going to significantly reduce the number of individual items I’ll need to take on holidays and is super-useful. I have the one for skin with warm tones as it contains my favourite no-shimmer eye shade in taupe. To be honest though I’m thinking of getting the one for cool tones too as I’m already a fan of the Real Radiance Blush in Rosy Glow. Take a look, I’m sure you’ll be impressed.
SBC Skincare Body Wash & Shampoo
This Citrus Caviar & Mandarin Body Wash & Shampoo is a bottle of sunshine. The scent alone is a real mood-booster and it lasts on the skin and hair for a good few hours after using. I love the fact that it’s vitamin-rich and doesn’t contain the usual nasties. More importantly, it definitely makes my hair feel soft as well as clean. Those cheap shampoos that strip you of your natural oils have a lot to answer for.
Whizzer from Kiddiwhizz
Ok so I don’t want to say too much about this product as I really need you to go to Kiddiwhizz and read all about the Whizzer yourself. Suffice to say, you won’t want to be going to festivals, camping or long car journeys without one. It’s a portable eco-toilet that you can fit in the glove-box or even your tote bag. And it’s just as useful for adults as children. It’s leakproof, comfy and hygienic with a huge capacity. The Dragons loved it and my grandchildren adore it! A game-changer!
