Beauty must-haves is a funny old phrase. My oldest daughter couldn’t do without her silk pillow to combat frizz-hair. Moisturiser and eyebrow-dye are amongst mine. Yet ask around your female friends and a good tweezer is up there at number one! Cuticle oil has become and essential for me of late and in the winter, a good body lotion for my lower legs is ‘up there’ too! Below are a few recent discoveries of mine!
Glow & Go Set by Violet Jordan
When I read that these three make-up sticks could literally replace everything in my make-up bag, I was very sceptical to say the least. But it’s true. Violet Jordan’s Glow & Go Set is multi-tasking at its best. Glow & Go can be used as a moisturising base, blusher, highlighter, lip- and eye colour! It’s lovely and creamy and is specially formulated for the over ’50s. It takes just minutes to apply. I love the natural look it gives you as I’ve never been a fan of ‘full coverage’ foundation with all the ‘layers’.. Life’s too short to spend hours putting on your make-up, so let’s all glow and go!
Beauty Hygiene Plus ‘On The Go’ Kit
Post Covid19 we’ve all become way more hygiene-aware. Masks & hand sanitiser were never part of our daily routine before. And I’m fairly sure we all wash our hands way more than we used to. No surprise then that a few make-up hygiene companies have popped up. Our make up brushes touch our faces every day so it makes sense to keep them clean and hygienic. I love this little travel kit with a Quick Dry Brush Cleaning Spray & Quick Dry MakeUp Sanitising Mist which kill 99.9% of all bacteria without affecting your make-up or brushes. Perfect!
HADA LABO TOKYO Wrinkle Filler Cream
I’ve been a fan of HADA LABO TOKYO skincare for some time now and their latest offering lived up to my expectations. One of my beauty must-haves for sure! This particular daytime moisturiser is thick, rich and creamy but sinks in without being greasy. It contains 4 different types of hyaluronic acid and smoothes the skin on my face nicely. Who knows if it makes me look younger but I definitely feel my skin looks smoother and better. It’s fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin.
nuddy
Nuddy soaps are amazing, smell divine and seem to last ‘forever’. Made from rich, raw African Shea Butter, they feel so creamy on the skin and clean and moisturise at the same time. I’ve tried the lavender soap and the mint, lime and grapefruit scent Shampoo Bar. Top quality and no plastics. Brilliant and most definitely one of my beauty must-haves.
thebeautyworX
I splashed out on a few fab skincare products from thebeautyworX the other day. The Facial Cleanser suits my skin really well and I’m already a fan of their Collagen boost Moisturizing Day Cream. Everything, incidentally, is free from sulfates, parabens, dyes, phthalates & petrochemicals.
NIVEA Q10 Firming Body Lotion with Argan Oil
Ok so this is a bit of a mouthful but boy is it worth it. I picked it up in Boots the other day for just £4.99 and I’m impressed. It’s creamy and moisturising without being greasy and claggy (if you know what I mean). I hate it when I put body lotion on and it just won’t sink in. I’m not entirely sure that it’s going to make my skin ‘noticeably firmer’ but it’s definitely softer and not at all dry. My legs get really dry at this time of year and this works a treat. It smells good too which is always a bonus! One of my beauty must-haves? Yes, without doubt!
Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Toothpaste
I’m forever trying new toothpastes. I like Oral B, dislike Colgate and refuse to pay an arm and a leg for any of them frankly. A few toothpastes on the market make the skin in my mouth ‘shed’ which is horrible. Google it, it’s a ‘thing’ honestly and it’s as awful as it’s described. This particular Beverly Hills Formula toothpaste makes my mouth feel clean and fresh which is always good. It contains a combination of unique ingredients which help remove stains and prevent plaque without being too abrasive. If you’d like whiter, brighter and lighter teeth then it’s well worth a shot!
Fenjal
Fenjal bath products are kind of synonymous with pampering yourself. For me, a lovely, hot, deep and beautifully scented bath is the perfect antidote to a stressful day. I don’t think there’s a Fenjal product I’m not a fan of, to be honest. Even the Fenjal Hand Cream is perfect. Soaks in leaving your hands soft and smooth with no hint of greasiness. And Fenjal’s soap smells divine.
Earthy Nail Polish
Ok so it’s well and truly Autumn now so no more Summer Nails. The Autumn Earthy Nail Polish Collection is a real treat. Purple Rain is my current favourite but Sand Dune is a close second. The high shine polish lasts for ages if you use it with the Earthy Top & Base Coat. It’s also vegan, 21-free and comes with an anti-bacterial bamboo cap!
Roccabox
Over the years my daughters and I have tried many, many different beauty boxes. Well I’ve just subscribed to Roccabox and boy oh boy, am I impressed. One of the full-size products I received has an RRP of £72. I’m fairly sure that I would never have ever tried out the SYMBIOSIS – Tightening & Resplendent Eye Mask at that price but ROCCABOX gave me that opportunity. It’s a fabulous product which really seems to work on my eye area. I also had a full-sized MUDMASKY. That too turned out to be an effective and luxurious product. The BLOOM AND BLOSSOM – Pyjamarama Dry Body Oil is like a spa in a can. It’s a super-nourishing dry oil which smells divine and makes your skin feel so soft and rehydrated. No greasy residue on the sheets either! Altogether there were 5 brilliant products plus a surprise little extra Elie Saab perfume sample. Try this beauty box out for yourself. You definitely won’t be disappointed!
