So this has been a funny old year hasn’t it! COVID has pretty much dominated everything. Nonetheless I’m still going to tell you about a few of my favourite products. And no they’re not pyjamas or Zoom-friendly office accessories this time. My new Ekster cardholder is one of my fave 2020 products. Keeps my bank cards safe and makes my handbag way lighter. Win-Win! (I may well add a few things on to this list before the end of the year btw)

Embryolisse Hydra-Serum and Hydra-Cream Light
The Embryolisse Hydra-Cream Light is a lightweight ultra-nourishing gel moisturiser which sinks into the skin in seconds and keeps you hydrated all day long. It’s a lovely refreshing texture and has become my new face Go-To! The Embryolisse Hydra-Serum feels pretty special too. This one is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and like it’s sister above is hypoallergenic and free from parabens, phthalates, SLS, sulphates and oil. Try them – I know you’ll be impressed.
HADA LABO TOKYO Anti Aging Day Cream
This anti-wrinkle cream absorbs super easily into my skin and keeps my face moisturised all day. I use it at night too as generally I find night creams too rich for my skin. The retinol and collagen are useful ingredients as they plump up and firm my skin. I’ll reserve judgement on the wrinkle reducing effects until I’ve been using it a bit longer. So far though, things are looking good!
Toni & Guy Hello Day Straightener
These Toni & Guy Straighteners are without doubt the best straighteners I’ve ever used. They have a few different heat settings depending on which day post hair-washing you’re using them. This means that there’s way less chance of you damaging your hair. The ceramic tourmaline plates mean you can get your hair super-sleek and that auto shut-off function doesn’t half set your mind at rest!
Ekster Aluminium CardHolder
So last year Mr 50 Plus acquired an Ekster Smart Wallet which he raves about. Such a neat, stylish wallet with RFID blocking technology to prevent skimming and data theft! Comes in a lovely gift box so perfect for a man’s Xmas gift!
Anyway at his recommendation, I have now got one of the Ekster aluminium cardholders and it’s brilliant. It’s even got a handy clip on the back for money. Well worth buying for yourself or as a gift!
Revlon One Step Dryer & Volumiser
I’ve got the striking red Titanium Special Edition version of this fab Revlon Dryer-Volumiser and it suits my hair perfectly. Usually when a dryer ‘guarantees long-lasting, shiny locks, giving you that ‘stepped out of the salon’ glow in up to half the time’, I take it all with a pinch of salt. This time though I was wrong, the faster drying and styling time, reduces heat exposure and genuinely gives a conditioned, smooth and shiny finish to my hair. As important, it gives my hair the oomph and body it needs!
Only Curls
I have a Curly Girl daughter and those of you with proper curls know how hard it is to find the ‘right products’. These products contain avocado and kukul oils to cleanse, hydrate, define, hold and not weigh curls down. I picked up the Only Curls All Curl Cleanser and All Curl Conditioner for her and apparently it’s a winner! Amongst her alltime favourite products it seems! Take a peek on Instagram at all the CGM (Curly Girl Method) posts and you’ll see what I mean. The curly world is a whole new world. #curlygirl
Sonic Facial Sculptor from K Facial
I’ve always been a bit of a sceptic when it comes to this sort of beauty tool but hey, this one really does work. Ok it doesn’t turn the clock back and make me look 25 again but it definitely does firm my skin up and make the contours look a bit sharper. It also genuinely makes you feel like you’ve had a facial after using it. The best thing is that buying it costs less than even one facial but you can use it again and again. Win, Win!
LABFRESH T-Shirt
Ok so Mr C has been trying a couple of new things to wear recently – a fab sweatshirt and a T-Shirt from LABFRESH. Apart from the fact that the quality is top-notch, both items feel and look great. They are ‘magic’ too as they’re made with a special technology which means they stay fresher longer so you need to wash them less frequently. Obviously this is way better for the environment as you need to buy less often so less rubbish to landfill. You also use less energy as the washing machine is on less. Pretty amazing!
