So a month full of Bank Holidays. May in The UK has never looked so good, though three Mondays off in one month may seem a tad excessive. Take a look below and you’ll see a few of my regular brands mentioned.
Embryolisse moisturisers and eye creams suit me down to the ground as you can see. I can honestly say that I’ve got on superbly with every single one of their skincare products that I’ve tried. And now I’m really excited by the Embryolisse Brow Volumizing Mascara. It’s perfect for me and my post-menopause sparse eyebrows. It looks natural, applies easily and is about as good as it gets for brows. Why do our eyebrows get so thin with age when men’s seem to proliferate at a rate of knots?! It’s so unfair.
And if you do at least one good thing today then look at Bionsen’s explanation about why it’s good to sweat!
Fresh Wipes
I’m a great fan of Fresh Wipes and wish I had known about them when my Mum was in hospital recently. Their Body Wipes are a lovely size for an adult and Mum loved the light coconut scent. She couldn’t get out of bed to shower so the wipes were perfect. I even tried FreshWipes No Rinse Shampoo Cap on her and that was an incredible success. It was impossible to wash her hair properly and this was the next best thing. Dry shampoo made her itchy but the Fresh Wipes Shampoo Cap made her ‘feel clean again’! I’ll definitely be taking the fresh grapefruit scented body wipes on holiday with me in June!
HADA LABO TOKYO Super Hydrator Lotion
HADA LABO TOKYO happens to be Japan’s No. 1 Skin Care Line. I’ve used lots of their different moisturisers and am actually using their Repair Night Cream right now. Their Anti-Aging Super Hydrator Lotion is a real winner too. I’ve been using it on my face and neck the last few weeks and I love how it absorbs into my skin quickly and doesn’t leave my face all sticky. I can put my make-up on quite soon after I’ve moisturised with it which is always a plus point. This is another product which will be coming on holidays with me as it’s the right consistency to top up the moisturiser on my face and body during the sunny days.
COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
Perfect for daily use, the COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream works to protect the skin from UV and pollution while deeply hydrating your skin. The texture of this lovely Korean sun cream is similar to a light moisturizer. It’s a really hydrating sunscreen which is absorbed into the skin quickly without feeling greasy or leaving white marks. It’s light enough to wear all year round and my only negative is that the tube is too small. Try it. What’s not to love!
Emporia Mobile Phones
Their own ‘blurb’ says “emporia specialises in mobile phones for people whose main priority is ease-of-use, and who are not interested in apps etc….. ” And I can confirm that my own 85 year old Mum loves her Emporia Supereasy smartphone! She said: ‘I like the bigger icons and the ‘proper buttons’ to start and end calls most. As her daughter, I like the easy Emergency Call button as it gives me a degree of reassurance although she has pressed it inadvertently once or twice!
Bionsen Mineral Deodorants
On their site, Bionsen themselves say, “We let your pores breathe whilst still keeping you fresh” and “You wouldn’t block the pores on your face so why do you block the pores under your arms?” I’ve been using mineral deodorants for a little while now since I watched a documentary about the risks of using aluminium-based underarm products. I could never go back to the old-school anti-perspirants. Bionsen deodorants contain none of those nasty aluminium salts, smell good and even moisturise. Bionsen happens to be The UK’s Number 1 Deodorant and there’s a good reason for that. Whether you prefer a stick, roll-on or spray, Bionsen has it for you! Switch to an aluminium-free deodorant, it’s a no-brainer!
Embryolisse Intense Lift Eye Cream
I’m already an Embryolisse fan anyway and am currently using their Anti-Pollution Moisturiser, which I love. The Embryolisse intense lifting eye cream with chestnut blossom is a whole new ballgame. It claims to restructure the entire eye area. I can’t confirm that but I can confidently say that it smooths and fills in wrinkles around my eyes
Its anti-fatigue formula has a lifting effect apparently too. The eye cream does lifts the eyelids and my dark
circles aren’t so evident.
The fine skin around the eyes seems more rested and I kind of feel I look fresher when I use it. Try it, you won’t be disappointed, I promise.
Embryolisse Brow Volumizing Mascara
Being very fair and also a woman of a certain age, my eyebrows are pretty much invisible. They’ve become much sparser with age and although still blonde, I’m sure grey is on the way. As I said above, what is it with eyebrows?! Men’s brows grow out of control as they age but women’s just fade away. This Embryolisse Brow Volumizing Mascara is a total game-changer. It’s truly epic! I Love it to bits. Easy to apply, smudge-proof and a real must-have for me!
RINGANA FRESH
First of all I think I should point out that Ringana skincare products are about as fresh as you can get. They all have a sell-by date as proof of their freshness too. I’ve been using the FRESH Body Wash and Shampoo recently. They smell divine and more importantly, my scalp has stopped itching! No nasties, no unnecessary ingredients and microbiome-friendly too. What’s not to love.
My daughters are currently trying out the lovely Ringana FRESH Baby Bum Cream and a few other bits and bobs with my grandchildren . Perfect for babies’ sensitive skin and fresh as a daisy! Will let you know how they get on with their little ones next time.
SOS SPF50 SUN CREAM
Anyone who has sensitive skin will know how itchy some sun creams can make you feel. Well, SOS SPF50 Sun Cream is perfect for us sensitive souls. I like the fact that I don’t have to buy a separate sun cream for my face with this one as it saves space if you just have a carry-on bag for a weekend sunshine break. Another plus is that it’s safe for children to use, is non-greasy and doesn’t leave a white cast on your skin like so many of the SPF50 creams on the market.
Violet Jordan – The Deep Clean
I’m a huge fan of Violet Jordan and wear their Multi-Tasker every day. Their Deep Clean is a sublime, cream cleanser which cleanses and removes make-up whilst retaining your skin’s natural moisture. Lots of cleansers make my skin feel dry and stripped but this one moisturises and brightens my face and is a dream to use. It comes with 2 muslin cloths too – brilliant!
