The Joy Club is a new membership website helping you afford a happy, healthy and joyful retirement!
A new membership website promising to help people afford a happier, healthier retirement has launched in the UK.
The Joy Club is on a mission to help older Brits afford a more active and joyful retirement. It offers people over 65 deeply discounted access to activities that support their wellbeing and bring them joy.
The membership website works by connecting members to exclusive deals from exciting businesses and retailers. The site helps members to save more, so they can afford to do more. Partners such as mature beauty trailblazers Look Fabulous Forever and leading fitness provider MoveBetter.TV provide deep discounts, allowing members to enjoy a range of products and activities without breaking the bank.
“Everyone deserves a happy and healthy retirement.”
The Joy Club
The Joy Club is the brainchild of 29-year-old adventurer and entrepreneur Hannah Thomson. Hannah is dedicated to helping recently retired people stay physically and mentally active in a bid to improve healthy life expectancy.
“Everyone deserves a happy and healthy retirement,” says Hannah. Her experience of witnessing her grandmother’s deteriorating health due to dementia spurred her to set up the company.
“Right now, we treat age-related illness only once it takes hold, often extending life expectancy at the expense of quality of life. To make matters worse, budget can be a huge barrier to us remaining active and independent in our later years, meaning that a healthy lifestyle may seem like a luxury we can’t afford.
“That’s why I created The Joy Club. Members can gain access to a wide variety of activities that support their physical and mental wellbeing at a deep discount (and sometimes even for free!), meaning that a limited budget won’t get in the way of enjoying your independence.”
The Joy Club’s Mission
The Joy Club’s mission has resonated with its partners, who are keen to support older consumers and provide their services at a discount.
“We’re thrilled to be working with The Joy Club to help those in later life use the power of movement to feel stronger, fitter and healthier”, said Nic Lenny – Pilates instructor and founder of MoveBetter.TV. “Pilates really is for everyone – it enabled me to recover from an injury and helped me feel more connected to myself. I want everyone to be able to tap into the psychological and physiological benefits of Pilates, so I’m delighted to be part of The Joy Club’s mission to help people enjoy a more active retirement.”
Tricia Cusden, founder and CEO of Look Fabulous Forever, is also thrilled to be involved. She loves the underlying idea of The Joy Club. “Helping older people lead a fulfilling and meaningful life in retirement is extremely important. At Look Fabulous Forever, we encourage women to embrace their joie de vivre by looking and feeling their best. It doesn’t matter how old they are and this is something we definitely have in common with The Joy Club”.
