Fragrance in a paintbrush, the ultimate nude lipsticks, a magically transforming face mask and more. Kim Jones uncovers the best new beauty trends and launches.
Jo Loves Fragrance Paintbrush, No.42 The Flower Shop, £40, joloves.com
The gorgeous Jo Loves perfume range, created by fragrance guru Jo Malone CBE, launched its first-of-a-kind Fragrance Paintbrush in 2017. Encouraging you to think of your body as a canvas, you simply sweep the gel cologne all over your body – arms, legs, and neck – everywhere! New to the paintbrush perfume range is No. 42 The Flower Shop (a nod to the fact that – remarkably – Jo worked in a florist on Elizabeth St aged 16 where she would later open her Jo Loves outlet!). The fragrance pays homage to that sharp yet mossy, fresh-cut flower scent that envelops you in all good florists – a blend of new blooms and crisp, moist green leaves. Paint it all over.
Korean Skin Care
Erborian Magic Transformask, £34, erborian.co.uk
This Korean skin therapy brand knows a thing or two about herbs that can help your skin glow – and this mask contains seven of them, including soothing and antioxidant-rich liquorice root and Tiger green extract. The glow-getting formula not only cleanses your skin, but gives it a healthy, sparkling radiance, too. First, the shimmering pink gel converts into a powder when applied; then it morphs into a milky film on rinsing, leaving behind clean skin with a pearlised finish. So, now you glow!
Diego Dalla Palma Nudissimo Stick Lipsticks, £16 Marks and Spencer
There’s a perfect nude lippie out there for everyone and you could find yours in the latest six-piece Nudissimo collection from Italian beauty brand Diego Dalla Palma. From pink-hued naturals to caramel, peachy and rose tones, the matt but creamy texture of the velvety sticks sit pretty on the lips for hours. Naturally kissable, notably understated.
Fragrance Layering
L’Occitane Rose Eau de Toilette, £49 and Fragranced Waters, £32, L’Occitane stores and loccitane.com
Here’s a modern way to wear a classic fragrance. Layer it and customise according to how you feel! It’s one of my favourite beauty trends! Here’s how it all works at L’Occitane. The new Rose Eau de Toilette is a gorgeous, light and delightfully rosy fragrance. It’s full of romance, and perfect for a springtime lift. You can wear it alone, of course, but there’s also the option of layering. Layer it with one of three Rose Fragranced Waters, which you can match to your mood. Choose from floral and fruity ‘Burst of Cheerfulness’; floral-citrus ‘Burst of Vitality’ or mellow and muted ‘Burst of Relaxation’. Experiment, have fun – and scent yourself rosy – your way.
Estée Lauder Double Wear Instant Fix 24hr Concealer + Hydra Prep, £25, from Estée Lauder counters nationwide and esteelauder.co.uk
No more dry and cracking tell-tale concealer marks! This clever multi-tasking formula comes in a double-ended stick. On one end, a lightly-moisturising serum with glycerin and hyaluronic acid, that perfectly preps your under-eye area, so it’s smooth and hydrated. On the other, the concealer, with IntuiTone Pigment technology that adapts to your skintone to give a seamless finish. Imperfections perfectly hidden!
Eco Conscious Beauty
Ashley & Co bath & body range, from £9, Selfridges.com
This New Zealand designer scent company has just launched their range of soaps, hand & body lotions, hand creams, diffusers and waxed perfume scented candles into the UK at Selfridges. Eco-conscious, the brand stays as natural – but inventive – as possible when it comes to the ingredients they use to scent their wares. Think Costa Rican tuberose, mandarin peel, wild jasmine and fig leaves. With fragrance names like ‘Parakeets and Pearls’ and ‘Bubbles and Polkadots’ there’s a playful, almost mysterious feel to the brand, too. But what’s no mystery is the quality and delicious long-lasting perfume all the products deliver that lingers on the body or in the air for ages.
