Over 50s fashion is a ‘thing’ now. Anyone can be stylish and fashionable. And noone has the right to tell you what you can or cannot wear! ….
So you reach your fifties and all of a sudden you become aware that your waist has gone! What to do? If you’re like me, you definitely don’t want to go the beige route and kind of hide away. God no. We 50 Plus ladies are invisible enough already. I’ve already decided that I want to be like the woman who said “When I am an old woman I shall wear purple“. Last year I bought myself a fab yellow coat and am genuinely looking right now for a statement piece in a striking colour for this Autumn. Who knows what I’ll end up with but it will be two sizes bigger than Autumn 20 years ago!
Now I’m well aware that there are paragons of virtue out there who don’t eat the chocolate I do and claim to be able to fit into their clothes from when they were twenty. Good for them but hey, life’s too short to deny yourself cake. I’d love to be size 12 again but my boobs have always been on the large size and are now a Double G! It’s not very likely unless I cut out every ‘treat’ known to man and that’s not going to happen any time soon.
Over 50s Fashion
I happened upon a lovely little site recently called Kit and Kaboodal who cater for over 50s fashion. They have some lovely Autumn pieces that have just come in, but to be honest you could wear an awful lot of their stuff all year round. What I like about them particularly is the One Size Fits All aspect of their clothes. My weight goes up and even down occasionally so having something in your wardrobe which fits you and looks good whatever the scales say is great.
Oh and by the way, there’s nothing on the ‘what not to wear‘ list unless you’re planning on going out dressed like Madonna anytime soon! That push-up bra she wore on the Graham Norton Show was too much, it really was. Nonetheless, each to his own!
Anyway, yet again, I digress ….. Kit and Kaboodal is an independent family-run fashion brand that specialises in high-quality Italian clothing that compliments women of all ages and sizes. They have a large variety of lovely pieces that can effortlessly take you from day to night.
Here are a few of my favourites … Click on the images for a proper look!

See what I mean. Fab, funky clothes and not at all ageing or frumpy. Take a look at Kit & Kaboodal for yourself. I’m fairly sure you’ll be as impressed as I was by the versatile and value-for-money selection of clothes they have.
