Fancy Going For A Short Pixie Haircut?

Kathryn’s trying to decide whether or not to go for a pixie haircut …

I’m  fairly sure that most of us ladies have ‘bad hair days’ fairly often. The sort of days where your hair goes all flyaway and static (if you’re like me) or just won’t sit as it’s meant to. Perhaps your hair doesn’t like rain and goes all frizzy.  Frizz rain, my daughters call it! That sort of wishy-washy drizzle which doesn’t necessarily need an umbrella but it doesn’t half mess up your hair.

Pixie Haircut

When the children were little and I had a bit less time on my hands, I went for a very short pixiecut.  And believe me it was really short. I used to be able to blow-dry it in minutes but then had to faff around with various hair products for just as long to get it to sit right. I hate hair which looks ‘just so’ and I prefer mine to look a bit messy and not so styled. Bed Head hair I think it’s called.

Anyway I’ve been googling pixie haircuts recently and can’t decide whether or not to go for the chop.  My hair is currently longer than it’s been in ages. I tend to twirl it around my fingers and let it dry messy as that’s what seems to look best on me. Hot flushes and having a distinct lack personal climate control means that I minimise hairdryer use as much as possible.  Flipping menopause has a lot to answer for.  Not only does it decide to thin out your hair but it also means you sweat like crazy when you blow-dry your hair.  Lose-lose, as they’d say!

Silver Pixie Haircut

I can’t decide what I think of this pixie haircut in the video or not.  Half of me loves it.  Though I do think the silver pixie cut look makes this lady look a bit older than she is.  Perhaps she should have kept her original colour?  I don’t know.  What do you think? I’m never very daring and play things safe most of the time when it comes to hair. I’m seriously considering going all out and getting the short silver pixie haircut though.  Thing is I’m not grey yet so would it be ageing?   At the end of the day, it’s going to grow isn’t it? So if I really hate it…?

We’ll see anyway … Will keep you posted.
